Target audience: Anyone interested furthering a career or gaining knowledge about longevity and aging.
Special rates for older adults 65+, family care partners, and Lifespan volunteers.
Details: This online course consists of 31 classes (77.5 noncredit contact hours) in areas of gerontology taught by experts. Take the whole course or unit(s) of interest. To receive the certificate, regular attendance and active participation is required. CEs available for licensed social workers.
Lifespan of Greater Rochester is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers # SW-0089.
When: Course is held Wednesdays, 4-6:30 pm EST over Zoom. The course consists of 2 semesters: fall and spring. Either start in fall of 2026 (September) or spring of 2027 (January 2027).
NOTE: If you begin in the spring, you will start in January 2027 with class one: Introduction to Gerontology & Social Theories on Aging and then proceed with the program beginning with Unit 5. You will finish the program in December 2027.

You may also take specific Units and pay by the number of classes within each Unit. Classes are $40 each.
