Lifespan’s Sign Language Interpreting Service for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing

 

Rochester has one of the highest per capita deaf populations in our country. To support their needs and foster communication between hearing and non-hearing persons, Lifespan offers a Sign Language Interpreting Service for deaf or hard of hearing persons.

  

  • Qualified/certified interpreters at more affordable rates

  • Matches interpreters to the communication need

  • The only area interpreting service provided by a community-based non-profit agency

  • HIIPA compliant

  • Adheres to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) Code of Ethics

  • Interpreters for short and long-term assignments

We provide interpreting services for:

  • Health care providers

  • Human service agencies

  • Businesses

  • Government

  • Religious institutions

  • Educational institutions

  • Recreational events

  • And for special events

Call 244-8400, ext 175 or 340-2313 (TTY) via Relay Service at 711. When calling from a regular phone, you must use the NYS Relay Service to call a TTY.
