Are you looking for a home-like day program specifically for an older adult with a developmental disability?
Lifespan’s bright, home-like social model day program at 1900 S. Clinton Avenue in Brighton helps older adults with developmental disabilities take on “retirement!”
We open doors to new relationships in a warm and supportive environment. We open doors to creative expression, increased self-confidence, and physical and mental stimulation. We promote a sense of belonging.
A typical day includes fun, creative activities such as crafts, games, music, cooking/baking, sports and recreation, volunteer opportunities and pet/music/movement therapies. We also plan weekly field trips.
Program participants must be age 45 or older and have a documented disability. They should want to participate in a social model day program. They must be free of socially disruptive behaviors, and they must be continent/toilet independent and able to eat independently.
The private pay rate is $55 a day. Transportation is not provided, however 1900 South Clinton Avenue is on a bus line and LiftLine is available.

Lifespan helps older adults with developmental disabilities take on everyday activities! Our unique “integration” service helps developmentally disabled adults (60 and older) to take on activities at Monroe County’s senior centers. Participants are linked with qualified senior companions who provide assistance and support during senior center activities. Integration program participants must choose to attend, and they should be free of socially disruptive behaviors. They must be ambulatory, continent/toilet independent and able to eat independently.
